Among Padola's summer and winter events not to be missed is our traditional carnival, known as the 'maskarada', held during the first weeks of Easter. The carnival in Comelico Superiore is a centuries-old tradition, which was lost in neighbouring areas following attempts to suppress it after the Council of Trent. However, it is still alive and popular in Padola. During the festivities, along with being masked, you can enjoy dancing the night away throughout the streets to the tune of many accordions.
